Changes come…
May 30, 2007 by rob.
As of today the baby room project has begun. My in-laws kindly came over tonight to move around some furniture for us and now the spare bedroom is an empty canvas for Andrea to decorate. We have ordered the baby bedding and it’s on its way. Thank you Ebay!
I’ll miss my office space but I’m excited to get everything set up in there. We have some decorations already and I’m really looking forward to getting to use my new drill again that I got for my birthday.

Yep. It’s cool.
Another change is the photo gallery on my web site http://www.digitalrob.net/gallery2/main.php. There are lots of cool new features and it offers the ability for registered users to share pictures of their own. It could be lots of fun so go register. It’s pretty easy to use but I’ll send out some instructions once you register.
thanks for checking in,

It’s all fun and games until some one loses an eye, then its just games

First the baby news. We had a little episode last week with high blood pressure that resulted in tests and a brief hospital visit. Mom and baby are doing ok. However we have the possibility of bed rest looming on the horizon. We got to see the baby again on Thursday and everything is good and we have confirmation that its a boy.
After the ultra sound I went to play some golf. We had a great time and it was a beautiful day. I made some great hits but still couldn’t get the score down. I lost.
I got to play golf again on Saturday with my cousins. It was fun and this time I didn’t lose. Thanks David. Mike managed to stab himself in the head with a stick while he was looking for his golf ball in the woods. It was right above his eye and left some nasty scratches and a lot of blood. He managed to do this on the second hole. We kept playing. I guess Mike and Phil’s matching shirts helped them out as they had the best scores. It was great to get together and play. We need to do that more often. Of course that’s a little difficult with Mike living in New Jersey. Jerk.
So this is the last week that our spare bedroom gets to be called my office. My wife is getting her brothers to come out next week to help move stuff. The baby room decorating will begin.

It’s official

Today I have completely become a Missouri resident. I now have Missouri plates on my car and boy was it a pain in the butt. I think Missouri makes it so difficult to get license plates to see who really, really wants them. I didn’t, but what are you gonna do? Emissions tests, safety inspections and personal property taxes and all of it costs money. Lots of money. And…. it’s dumb. It took me all afternoon to get all of this, plus an oil change, done. For the safety inspection they told me my windshield wipers would not pass the inspection. Windshield wipers! Luckily I had an extra pair in the trunk. It’s a sad world we live in when the government has nothing better to do than tell me I need to change my windshield wipers. I think it’s none of their business. So all the hoops have been jumped through and I have Missouri plates on my car.
We had a busy weekend but it was fun. I got to hang out with my sister, brother in-law and nephew. We did some yard work at their house, had mother’s day and got to play guitar hero II.
Now on to another week and hopefully sometime this summer I will get to play golf again. We are going to have another ultrasound this week so we get to see the baby again. Andrea’s a little nervous. I’m only concerned that they could say “oops, it’s a girl”

Long time coming….
April 30, 2007 by rob.
Ok, so I didn’t last long on the blog thing. My lovely wife has done a much better job over here http://drea.digitalrob.net
So what’s new? Well, we are having a boy! Woohoo. Now we need to the gett the apartment ready. Booo. There lots of stuff to do around the house to get things organized and prepared for our new arrival.
We had a great time in New Jersey/New York City last weekend. We stayed with my cousin Mike and his family and we had a blast. Pictures coming soon to http://www.digitalrob.net. Mike and I went golfing the first day we were there. We had fun but the course was a little soggy after thier rain storms. We went to NYC one day and visited Times Square and Rockefeller center. We even bought some souveniers for the baby. Our last full day there we went to Point Pleasant beach and checked out the boardwalk and the sand/rocks. It was great fun visiting with family and the kids were hilarious. “Oh, I thought it was a magic flower.” Priceless.
So now that I’ve posted, I really do intend to post again. till then….

New in 2007….
January 12, 2007 by rob.
The start of a new year and already there are changes on the way. The big news is that my wife and I are expecting our first child in August! Wohoo! So that in and of itself brings on change. We are very excited and she is starting a blog of her own to chronicle her adventure, which can be found at http://www.drea.digitalrob.net I expect that she will be starting that up soon.
For Christmas I got World of Warcraft, a cool new gaming keyboard. Today is the day I get to start playing with these. So I guess I’m off to join the other 8 million nerds fighting it out in the World of Warcraft.

Church Hunt Part IV….
December 8, 2006 by rob.
The last church we visited was nestled snugly in an industrial complex. I thought that was kind of a strange place for a church but that’s just me. The place seemed nice and the sanctuary seemed to double as a multipurpose room. The seats were folding chairs that were arranged so that if you didn’t know the person you were sitting next to, then you had the opportunity to be intimate with them by the time church was over. I don’t know about everybody else but I don’t want to sit so close to a person that I can tell what kind of deoderant, or lack there of, that they are wearing.
The service was good, I enjoyed the worship time although the worship leader came off as a little bossy at times. It was a “It’s time to worship, give all your cares to God…. I said do it. Now!” kinda thing.
The sermon, while it was probably the best one we have heard so far, was a little boring. Mainly because of the delivery, but good none the less. Ironically the sermon was about Apathy and that’s exactly how I felt about that church. Who knows. Maybe we should give it another chance.

Church Hunt Part III…
December 1, 2006 by rob.
The last church we visited had a Saturday evening service and so far its the one we have liked the best. This church has a fairly large congregation and has several weekend services. It’s one of the most diverse churches I have ever attended. I’m curious what this church does that appeals to so many different people groups. The saturday night service is very appealing to me and would work great with my work schedule. I don’t want that to cloud my judgement though.
Praise and worship was great. This church has a music school and the students were the ones that led that night. They were great. At times it did seem to border on a rock show though with all the lights and stuff. One thing that really bugs me though is that some of the lyrics of modern worship songs are just rediculous. One of the ones they did that night, i couldn’t tell if it was a song to God or a boyfriend/girlfriend. It was a little creepy. I don’t understand how people can sing this stuff sometimes.
The sermon was ok. It was about generations. Yep, thats about all I remember about it. The pastor did say some interesting things but the message on the whole was sort of blah. We did like this church and may end up going back. I’m just happy that its been two weeks without prancing.
